CRESTED BUTTE CENTER FOR THE ARTS
PROJECT BRIEF:Black Dragon Development LLC was entrusted with the plan development, budgeting, and construction of this 34,000 square foot performing arts complex. Nestled in the center of Town Park in Crested Butte, this facility serves a multitude of arts programming needs from concerts to ceramics, aerial dance to painting. A true legacy project, the Center acts as the cornerstone for the State of Colorado Designated Art District which aims to nurture young artists, drive economic health, and entertain all.

The best decision that the Center for the Arts ever made with the capital campaign for a new building was hiring Black Dragon Development. Initially, Crockett served as our Owners Representative and helped navigate us through an RFP process that resulted in the hiring of a new architect that specialized in performing arts centers in rural communities. He also helped us work though an arduous two year zoning and architectural review process that was successfully navigated thanks to Crockett’s strong relationships with Town employees, incredible attention to detail, and calm presence through some challenging meetings.
